LUCY
Description
LUCY / Collie Cross (Border) / Female / 2 to 5 Years / Rehoming Centre: Evesham
Lucy is a sweet, affectionate girl who likes to be around people but worries a lot about new things. She is a typical active collie in that she needs to have plenty to do but can easily get overwhelmed. Lucy is very playful but tends to use play as a way of coping when she is worried and needs adopters who can understand the difference. She's looking for a home that's a little bit different because she gets overstimulated; particularly if there is too much for her to look at. She's looking for a home which is not too busy but also where there is somewhere she can go to be on her own for periods during the day where she can't see anything. A room to herself with no windows, windows covered up or a heated garage could be ideal. Someone who works part time would work well with Lucy because she would then get regular quiet periods.
Because of her deafness Lucy can be a little nervous and needs owners with lots of patience who can develop a relationship that allows them all to be clear and confident about communication and interaction with each other. Our staff team will be happy to advise. Lucy needs to be channelled both physically and mentally but also needs to learn how to stop and settle. She would probably benefit from owners who are familiar with collie traits. She'd be best in a home without other pets or young children so that its nice and calm.
