Mitch

Description

 Mitch was brought in by an Inspector earlier this year.  He is a very affectionate dog, smaller than he looks in the picture and a delight with everyone he meets.  

From the scarring on his face we would guess he has been used as a working dog so a home with no small furries is essential.

Mitch's fosterers report he is clean in the house and a delight to have around.  He loves to cuddle up on the settee and is a real people dog. He loves giving and receiving affection!  In fact, a young girl visiting the foster family was scared of dogs but Mitch's quiet, polite manner quickly won her round so he's done his bit for scared humans - can we do our bit for Mitch?

His fosterers often have friends round and everyone loves him, he is so gentle with all. We dont recommend him living with really young children though as he does like his 'quiet' times!

 However, like a lot of rescue dogs who have been abandoned by the owner they trusted, he had issues around separation from his people.  Separation anxiety is treatable and with time and patience he has got there.  Now he just needs his forever home.

  Mitch would be best re-homed to someone around most of the time who can work with him to build up his confidence and trust.  With not much work, but a settled home environment, he overcame his separation issue. . He made such a massive improvement, he has not had to go back into kennels due to  the fosterers work commitments like before.

 Mitch can be reactive with other dogs, largely borne out of frustration and, we suspect, having worked with a group of other dogs.  However, we are working on this and would provide on-going support although we have to be honest and say this is something he may never fully overcome. 

Surely  his loving and gentle nature outweighs this?  

If you had a garden for him to play in where there were no other dogs to bother him,  he would be happy indeed ... and the love and adoration he gave you would be so worth it!

So if you can provide the home and love and a garden for him to play in, and not be bothered that you cant walk him in busy dog areas but have a lovely gentle loving companian in your life - he is the one for you!

 Mitch really deserves the chance to enjoy a loving comfortable home.
