Bonnie
Description
Bonnie is a smooth-haired crossbreed (possibly terrier) who is approximately 6 years of age. She is very lively and friendly, usually good with other dogs. She is a happy girl and will make a great companion in the right home. She can get very excited and vocal but this is something that can easily be worked on.
Bonnie cannot live with cats or small furries because they excite her too much. She will need a very well secured home environment with fencing at least 6 foot high because if she sees a cat she WILL chase (we have learned this from recent experience!). While Bonnie is usually very good and friendly with other dogs both on and off lead, as with any dog, introduce her to others carefully and with supervision.
Bonnie is lucky enough to be in foster where she is being continuously assessed. She is classed by us a dog with “areas for improvement” and these are being worked on. The areas are her vocal abilities (she has a lot to say!) and some separation anxiety. See below to read what her fosterer has to say.

“We’ve had Bonnie for about a week and what a sweet heart she is, you would never believe she’s 6 years old. She has been staying with me and my two dogs and has been a delight to have in the house. She is fully house trained and had no accidents inside the house. The first few days she did get upset when I left her and would cry and bark but this has now stopped as she has settled. She is used to being in a crate when left and overnight. She has been wonderful with other dogs. We meet up with friends and 9 other dogs and Bonnie loved playing chase with them and running through the long grass. She’s a real outdoors girl who’s not scared to get her feet muddy. Her recall is getting better every day and isn’t bothered about approaching other dogs on a walk. Bonnie does get very excited when she see you get her lead out and starts to bark, I’m ignoring this behaviour and once she stops carry on to put her lead on. She’s a smart girl and is learning that if she barks we don’t go anywhere. Whoever offers her a new home will need to carry on with this and understand that on her bad days it can take 15mins to get out of the house but on a good day just a few mins. She is rather vocal in the car and we are working on this by covering her crate as she gets excited by everything and bark’s. These are the only 2 things that I feel Bonnie will need a little help with, she just gets so excited and doesn’t know what to do with herself. These are both easy issues to work on and with the right help and patience can be easily corrected.”
