Banjo, 8-9 month old Weimeraner X Black Lab X Staffy, came in with his siblings back in October 2012, they were taken from their owners along with their mother and father due to being starved. The mother was extremely emaciated; the father and puppies were very underweight. He was rehomed in Nov with a Lhasa Apso but was returned a few months later. The black dog is Dad, the golden/red dog is Mum (after rehabilitation) and there is also a pic of Banjo as a little puppy, the other pics are of Banjo.
We are looking for an experienced rescue dog owner who is confident and knowledgeable, it's complicated but Banjo was not given the right guidance and became very confused, anxious and fearful due to poor ownership. He had got mixed messages from various trainers and his owners and therefore lacked confidence. His owners were never confident and he's picked up on this which has affected him. However he's been with us for a couple of weeks and has come on leaps and bounds. More information will be given.
Banjo is a really friendly boy, he's quite a big dog, he's shown no aggression to other dogs, he gets excited but just wants to say hello, he's met a few and his tail has wagged and he's been happy. He is obedient and has attended classes recently and got a glowing report from the trainer. He loves his toys and to play, he is affectionate too when he establishes trust. He gets quite stressed being on the lead/restrained, he is very strong but he is willing to learn and perhaps a cannycollar might help.
Banjo could be rehomed with a well socialised dog if they get on. He can be rehomed with teenagers or a child free home.
He is a beautiful looking dog with a lot to give, will you be the one to continue with his training and reap the rewards?
