    It was simply false advertising.

It was simply false advertising. It's a B&B with no breakfast, a mouldy bedroom and bathroom, a water leak in the hallway, the landmark views were a building site and the foul waste pipe on the neighbouring house, and the staff were homophobic. Avoid at all costs.

West Camel itself is not a place to stay, it is a group of houses on the A303. However the Hawk House Hotel is a place to stay, directly off the A303, and can be used to explore the local area easily and quickly. There is easy access to plenty of small villages, some great pubs, and of course the Fleet Air Arm Museum is less than 3 minutes down the road.

People are geeedy, selfish, unreasonable and no chance of being helped by anyone from that area when you are scared and alone. They will rob you just like booking.com does. Make sure you pay with paypal or credit card and don't listen when they tell you non refundable

Absolutely nothing to recommend this place.

Absolutely nothing to recommend this place. Did not fulfil the advertised offering- tv did not work at all during our 14 day "stay" despite the owner/manager admitting that he needed to replace 3 tv's at the rooms. The shower had to be turned off after approx. 60 seconds as the drain was blocked and led to overflowing. The shower water was either very hot or cold intermittently- these 2 issues were partially addressed during the second week. The bed sheets were only changed once and then only on request- pillow cases were not changed even once! The bedroom waste bin was emptied only on request and the bathroom bin was not emptied at all! The room was not cleaned at all and replenishment of the tea/coffee/sugar/milk etc. sachets had to be requested. Nothing was pro-active- if you didn't ask you didn't get. The manager/owner was not present during the last 4 days (apart from briefly at our final "breakfast") of our stay after we had asked for some form of compensation for our miserable stay. The breakfast is not exactly full English/Irish but included TURKEY rashers with a choice of a chicken or beef sausages.
